Horsepower Connection
Our part of the build was the project scheduling,
getting necessary sponsors, everything related to the turbo and EFI
system. We had a set of previously built headers for a customer who
changed his mind and went another direction. It was a perfect time to
put these into use. The headers were 1 3/4" 304 stainless steel, 3"
collectors with mild steel flanges, they featured the stahl bolt pattern
so adaptor plates were needed. We custom build a 3" 304 stainless steel
crossover tube with v-band connections. The 91.5mm

turbo was installed along with
the intercooler core they sent us. Some end tanks were fabricated with
3" in and out that fit in front of the radiator. The custom intercooler
is good for 1500hp and worked very well. The 91.5mm turbo featured a 4"
cold side outlet and a 5" exhaust side with a 1.0 A/R.. A decision was
made to use two 44mm Tial wastegates that we had on hand because of our
time frame and that they also would look cool. So some custom wastegate
dumps and 5" exhaust were fabricated. 3" cold side turbo piping was
fabricated to hook into the turbo and throttle body. FAST

(877) 334-8355 sent us a classic bank to bank ECU along with the
necessary sensors, we built a custom ECU harness to go along with this
ECU. At this time we also were hooking up the MSD boost controller, MSD
ignition and distributor in our hidden panel. Our transmission came back
from Jeff Neely Racing Transmissions all put together with the supplied
parts from TCI (662) 224-8972

supplied torque converter from PTC (256) 383-6868

our build we installed our 90mm throttle body and elbow that Wilson
Manifolds sent us.

some of the easier stuff, we installed our driveline from

our aluminum radiator from Performance Radiator to clear the turbo and
installed it.(800) 522-2246

In the mail we received a really cool set of Mickey Thompson Tires and
wheels from Mickey Thompson (330) 928 -

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com. The fuel system was then
installed and wired, Aeromotive sent us a really nice fuel pump, fuel
pressure regulator and filters. At the end we put the car on the dyno
for a couple of pulls then on to testing at Pacific Raceways in Seattle.
We ran a best of 9.05 @ 160mph letting out at 1000' and running 144%
injector duty cycle. Initially we used 84 lb/hr injectors but found that
at 24psi we were out of duty cycle, so some 160 lb/hr injectors were
swapped in. We then took the car to paint on Monday.
