Chassis Fabrication
During the time the engine was being assembled we took
the bare chassis over to Phil and Brett of Phil's Race Cars. Phil and
Brett immediatly got to work striping the chassis down to a bare frame
and putting together a list of parts we need to track down.
Phil and Brett turned the roll bar into a roll cage
with forward bars going to the frame. The engine received new custom
engine mounts, a new custom transmission mount, two custom battery
boxes, custom fuel cell, an Art Morrison 9" Ford with 35 spline
Dutchman Axels and the 3.73 rear end gears and center section were
supplied by
Randy's Ring and Pinion (866) 631-0196
http://www.ringpinion.com. Front and rear tubular control arms and anti roll bar
that made our car hook were supplied by
TRZ Motorsports
http://www.trzmotorsports.com (407) 993-7385.
The mounting points of the lower control arms were also gusseted. New
front and rear breaks were installed, Phil also decided to change the
front to a mustang II style rack. The rear frame was also notched to
clear our 28 x 11.5 slicks.
